Worn by the morning

High jewellery shaped from the one hour when every leaf wears diamonds, and gone by seven.

Scroll

05:47 · June · the meadow behind the atelier

At first light a dragonfly settled on a reed behind our atelier, wearing more diamonds than we had ever set.

Dewlery began that morning. Every piece we make tries to hold the same hour: light caught in water, resting on something alive.

We cut nearly every stone as a pear, the shape a drop takes just before it falls, and we set it so the metal almost disappears.

The signature piece

The Odonata
brooch

Our first piece, and still the one we are asked about most. A dragonfly at dawn, every wing paved in white diamonds the size of real dew, banded in champagne diamonds and tipped in padparadscha sapphire.

The atelier

Made in
four mornings

Every piece passes through the same dawn routine, at the same hours, in our workshop on the rue de la Rosée.

  1. 04:52

    We study real dew

Before sunrise our designers walk the meadow with a loupe and a camera, drawing how drops sit on grass, on silk and on wings. Every collection starts in those notebooks.

  2. 05:30

We choose each stone by eye

We judge a pear cut by how it holds light, the way water does: bright at the shoulder, deep at the point. We keep fewer than one in forty of the stones we see.

  3. 05:47

    We set them almost invisibly

Our setters raise claws thinner than a hair under the microscope, so each stone seems to rest on the metal the way a drop rests on a leaf.

  4. 06:15

We inspect it at first light

Every finished piece is checked at the east window in the light that inspired it. If it does not catch the morning, it goes back to the bench.

Each spring, your piece may come home to the atelier to be cleaned, polished and every claw checked. We call it the spring dew, and it is yours for life.
